Tracing and Handwriting for children with special needs.
Study reveals that children with ASD may have difficulty forming letters without expressing problems in other cognitive, social, or sensorimotor domains.
Over the years we had worked with many children in handwriting work, fine motor skills, and visuospatial abilities developing their pen and paperwork capabilities. Overall, the handwriting of children with ASD typically develops slower than normal children but can be corrected with patience and proper guidance.
Specifically, children with ASD had trouble forming letters; however, in other categories, such as size, alignment, and spacing, their handwriting was comparable to that of the typically developing children. Motor ability, specifically for timed movements, was a strong predictor of handwriting performance in children with ASD.
